The hems are shorter and the tops are teenier this time of year—so we don't blame you if you're looking for a few quick-and-dirty ways to tone up. We consulted trainer to the stars Harley Pasternak for his favorite moves for firming up fast. He recommends isolating your top-priority parts with these exercises that target the abs, booty, upper arms, and more.
For each of these moves, start with 2 sets of 30 reps. Pasternak's advice: Avoid hitting a plateau by changing up the intensity. Do 3 sets of 25 reps on some days; on other days, do 4 sets of 20 reps or 5 sets of 16.
Apple is widely expected to announce a third-generation iPad Air at a March event in a few weeks time and the latest supply chain chatter has it that the device will come outfitted with an ultra sharp display boasting a 4K resolution, or nearly four times the pixels of Apple’s current-generation 9.7-inch 2,048-by-1,536 pixel Retina display.
According to Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimes, it’ll also have an improved battery life and feature four gigabytes of RAM versus the iPad Air 2’s two gigs of RAM.
I don’t expect the added RAM and increased battery capacity to translate into smoother multitasking and longer run times versus the second-generation iPad Air.
If the iPad Air 3 has a 4K screen, it will need more RAM and increased memory bandwidth to feed image data to the GPU just to match the iPad Air 2’s performance. Also, 4K screens consume more energy due to higher pixel count so an improved battery package would be needed just to maintain the iPad’s ten-hour battery life.
General Interface Solution and TPK Holding will supply touch panels for the device, GIS will be responsible for LCD modules and touch panels along with backlighting products.
The iPad Air 3 is not expected to implement 3D Touch, however.
“Apple believes that despite a decline in the tablet market and increased competition globally, it still has a base of dedicated customers who are looking to upgrade their iPads,” reads the report.
After posting images of a purported iPhone 7 case with holes for a pair of speaker grilles and dual cameras on the back, gadget leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer today posted on Twitter images of a claimed iPad Air 3 case.
Corroborating the notion that Apple’s third-generation iPad Air is basically a smaller, 9.7-inch iPad Pro with the same A9X processor, Smart Connector and a four-speaker setup like the iPad Pro, the images show off openings in the right places for quad speakers and the Smart Connector.
As you can see for yourself, hole placement suggests that the iPad Air 3 will indeed have four speakers and the Smart Connector to connect to a yet-to-be-released, smaller version of the Smart Keyboard for the iPad Air 3. There’s also a tiny hole on the back next to the camera hole, presumably for a LED flash.

Apple is expected to announce a March media event in coming days.
The rumor-mill thinks the event will serve as a launchpad for the iPad Air 3, a new four-inch phone dubbed ‘iPhone SE’, new bands for the Apple Watch and possibly even a brand new Thunderbolt Display with an ultra-high resolution screen.
According to a fresh new rumor based on sources familiar with the matter, Apple’s upcoming iPad model, describes as either a third-generation iPad Air with the A9X chip, Smart Connector and Apple Pencil support or a smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro, is expected to start at $599 for a baseline Wi-Fi-only model with thirty-two gigabytes of storage. In addition, as reported by 9to5Mac, the device should be offered in the same 32/128GB configurations as the iPad Pro.
By comparison, the baseline iPad Air 2 model with sixteen gigabytes of storage starts at $499. The 32/128GB iPad Pro is $799/$949, or $1,079 for the top-of-the-line 128GB model with Wi-Fi and cellular support.
The report doesn’t mention a possible price point for a more capacious model with 128GB of storage and the ability to connect to LTE cellular networks.
“The 9.7-inch iPad Pro model will not replace the iPad Air 2 line, which will remain in Apple’s tablet portfolio for a likely $499 price,” as per 9to5Mac. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the iPad mini 4 won’t be updated at Apple’s event, sources claim.
Apple is scheduled to hold a media event on Monday, March 21. In addition to a new iPad model, the rumor-mill is expecting a four-inch iPhone SE refresh, new Apple Watch bands and updates to Apple’s operating systems.
Don’t you wish you could put your iPhone’s home screen icons anywhere — just like you can on Android? Well, now it’s possible, and you don’t need to jailbreak your device or install third-party tweaks. Here’s what to do.
This is made possible using a neat trick which creates home screen icons that blend seamlessly into your iPhone’s wallpaper. So, technically, you’re not creating free space, but you are adding icons that are almost invisible when placed in the correct spot on your home screen.
To make this possible, we’re going to use an online tool dubbed iEmpty. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Tap and hold an icon on your home screen to make your icons wiggle, then swipe to the left until you get to a blank page
Tap “Photo Library,” then select the screenshot you just created
Tap “Upload Photo”
You will now be greeted by a home screen with a bunch of icons; you need to tap the positions that you want to turn invisible on your home screen. For instance, if you want to create space in the top left corner, tap “1 x 1.” For bottom right, choose “6 x 4.”
Once you’ve selected a position, you will be presented with a custom icon. Now tap the Share button, then select “Add to Home Screen”
Tap “Add” without making any changes
Repeat this process for all the blank icons you require
Now return to your home screen and move the new icons into the correct positions on the home screen, and they will appear invisible, creating what looks like a blank space

Because this trick uses specially-created icons, rather than just bugs in iOS, nothing will change when you restart your iPhone; the blank spaces you’ve created will remain, and your home screen will look exactly the same as it did before your iPhone was switched off.
The iPhone 7 Plus, along with the iPhone 7, is still a few months out, at least, but the Rumor Mill simply refuses to give up on some things.
That includes the idea that the iPhone 7 Plus could boast not only a dual-camera setup on the back, but also a Smart Connector. This is something that won’t go away. In the case of the dual-camera system, that’s practically a foregone conclusion at this point, with leaked parts, molds, schematics, and just about everything else excluding an announcement from Apple all pointing to its eventual reveal.
The Smart Connector part, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to be such a steadfast bullet point on the specifications sheet just yet. Just three days ago we saw a mold of the iPhone 7 Plus, along with printed schematics, that showed the bigger, 5.5-inch iPhone won’t feature a Smart Connector near its bottom edge. And then earlier in May we saw schematics for both unannounced devices, again showing that the Smart Connector would be on board.
Even back to the end of April, where leaked documentation showed the Smart Connector would indeed be present.
Now, despite the fact that the leaked mold earlier this week showed no pin holes for a Smart Connector, here we are again with another leaked schematic for both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. And, you guessed it, the Smart Connector has made a return. These new documents were initially published by LetemSvetemApplem, and there are certainly some curious elements to them.
The iPhone 7 will apparently be thicker by 0.1mm from the iPhone 6s, at 7.1mm. It’ll actually probably be impossible for anyone to notice that difference, and the only real reason to point it out is because it would appear that Apple is no longer going out of its way to make ridiculously thinner and thinner phones. The iPhone 7 Plus is going to be 7.3mm, the same as the iPhone 6s Plus.
The camera bump is back on the iPhone 7, too, for those hoping that wouldn’t be the case. The iPhone 7 is rumored to feature optical image stabilization, which might balance out the scales there for some potential buyers.
Another thing the schematics suggest is that the iPhone 7 Plus, and not the iPhone 7, will feature an edge-to-edge display, and boast a front-facing camera that will apparently be embedded — as there’s no top (or bottom!) bezels. Those features are indeed rumored for a future iPhone, but not until the iPhone 8 is expected to land in 2017.
Finally, the Smart Connector is indeed back in play on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus. The initial report suggests Apple is planning on introducing wireless charging, in some capacity, with the iPhone 7 Plus and that particular accessory, which makes perfect sense.
With the more interesting aspects here, like the edge-to-edge display for the bigger device, there’s an obvious portion of skepticism to be raised, so keep that salt shaker handy.

Even if you’re not overweight, having a large belly raises your risk of dying of heart disease, a new study suggests.
To explore factors linked to early death, researchers relied on body measurements and other health information gleaned from more than 15,000 adults who took part in a national health survey. The average follow-up period was 14 years.
They found that normal-weight people with a “spare tire” (known as central or abdominal obesity) had a higher risk of dying of heart disease or any other cause compared with people without central obesity, regardless of whether they were normal weight, overweight, or obese. The results, published in the Dec. 15, 2015, Annals of Internal Medicine, suggest that people with central obesity—even if they’re not overweight—may benefit from lifestyle changes to prevent heart disease, such as exercise and eating a healthy, plant-based diet.
Central obesity is defined as having a waist-to-hip ratio of greater than 1.0 for men or greater than 0.9 for women. To calculate yours, measure around your waist (just above your belly button) and your hips (around the widest part of your buttocks) and divide the first number by the second.
